Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
1. Introduction
ReplyHunter ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Browsing & Feed Data (Strictly Local)
ReplyHunter operates entirely within your browser as a client-side application. All feed analysis is performed locally on your device. We do not transmit, store, or have access to:
- Your X (Twitter) account credentials or authentication tokens
- Content of posts, replies, or direct messages
- Your browsing history, or the posts and content you view on X
2.2 Account & Authentication Data (Transmitted Securely)
To manage your subscription and prevent multi-device abuse, we collect and securely transmit the following data when you log in:
- Your email address
- Your unique activation code
- A randomly generated device ID to lock your session to your current browser
2.3 Product Usage Data (Transmitted Securely)
To understand how ReplyHunter is used and improve the product, we record limited technical and usage data linked to your account:
- The date you first activated the extension
- The most recent day the extension was active on X (Twitter)
- The most recent day you used ReplyHunter's main features (the sidebar feed and on-feed badge tooltips)
- The version of the extension you are running
We record at most one timestamp per feature per day. We never record individual actions, click counts, the posts you view, or any content from X. This data is deleted together with your account under our data deletion process (see the Data Deletion section below).
2.3.1 Opting Out of Product Usage Data
You may request that we stop recording your Product Usage Data at any time by emailing us at info@replyhunter.co. We will process your request within 5 business days. Once processed, you will need to log out of the extension and log back in for the change to take effect.
Please note that even after opting out, the following data will continue to be collected as it is strictly required to operate the service:
- Your email address and activation code, to verify your subscription
- Your device ID, to enforce our single-device policy and prevent unauthorized sharing
2.4 User Testimonials (Voluntary)
When you submit a testimonial via our website, we collect your Name, Email, X (Twitter) Handle, and the text of your testimonial. This information is stored securely in our database.
By submitting a testimonial, you explicitly consent to us using this information (along with your publicly available profile picture) for marketing purposes on our website. You may request the removal of your testimonial at any time by contacting us.
2.5 Local Storage
ReplyHunter stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome's local storage API:
- User preferences (theme selection, sidebar visibility, filter settings)
- Extension configuration settings
This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
3. How We Use Information
ReplyHunter analyzes publicly visible posts on X (Twitter) to provide engagement predictions.
The data we collect (as outlined in sections 2.2 and 2.3) is used to:
- Verify your active subscription status
- Enforce our single-device usage policy
- Provide account management and support
- Understand how ReplyHunter is used so we can improve the product
3.1 Communications & Onboarding
By creating an account, you agree that we may use your email address to send you essential onboarding materials, product updates, and service announcements to help you use ReplyHunter effectively.
You maintain the right to opt-out of non-critical communications at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link included at the bottom of these emails, or by managing your preferences in your account dashboard under Email Communications.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. ReplyHunter is designed with privacy at its core:
- We ensure that X (Twitter) feed data is not transmitted to our servers. Only extension authentication data is processed through our backend for login and license verification purposes.
- We do not share your personal account information or browser extension usage data with any third parties.
4.1 Marketing and Advertising Attribution
As an exception to the above, our promotional website (replyhunter.co) utilizes third-party advertising and analytics services (such as X/Twitter Ads) to measure the performance of our marketing campaigns.
We may share anonymized, aggregated website visitor data with these platforms solely for attribution and targeted advertising purposes.
Your social media feeds, private messages, and extension interactions are never accessed by or shared with these advertising partners.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
5.1 The Browser Extensions
The ReplyHunter browser extensions (for Chrome and Firefox) operate locally on your device and do not utilize cookies, web beacons, or third-party tracking technologies.
5.2 The Promotional Website
Our promotional website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (e.g., tracking pixels) to enhance your browsing experience, analyze site traffic, and assess the effectiveness of our marketing.
When visiting our website, you are presented with a cookie consent banner allowing you to accept or decline the use of these non-essential marketing cookies.
You may revoke this consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies.
6. Browser Extension Permissions
ReplyHunter requests the following permissions to function:
Host Permissions (x.com, twitter.com)
Required to inject the extension's interface and analyze publicly visible posts on X (Twitter). This permission allows the extension to read page content and insert visual elements but does not grant access to your account or private data.
Storage Permission
Used to save your preferences (theme selection, sidebar settings) locally on your device. This data is stored using Chrome's local storage API and never leaves your browser.
7. Data Security
Feed data remains entirely local, while the ReplyHunter extension authentication data is securely transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored securely by our authentication provider. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system updated to ensure the latest security protections.
8. Children's Privacy
ReplyHunter is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used our extension, please contact us.
9. International Users
ReplyHunter is available globally. While feed analysis occurs locally, the ReplyHunter extension authentication data may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your state or country.
10. Your Rights & Account Management
You maintain full control over your locally stored preferences and your account data.
Local Data Control
- You can clear your local preferences at any time by clearing your browser data.
- Please note: Uninstalling the extension does not automatically release your registered device ID from our servers. To fully clear your active device session, you must explicitly click "Sign Out" from within the extension, or click "Disconnect Device" from your web account dashboard.
Account Deletion
- You may initiate a comprehensive account deletion request at any time via the account settings portal or by submitting a request to our support email (info@replyhunter.co).
- Upon processing, your registered email address shall be permanently purged from our servers. We retain only an anonymized account record for accounting purposes.
Subscription Cancellation
- In the event of a paid subscription cancellation, your account shall remain active through the conclusion of the current billing cycle.
- Subsequently, the account shall transition to an inactive state, pending any formal request for complete deletion.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Modified" date. We encourage you to review this policy regularly. Continued use of ReplyHunter after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
